About our Head TeacherMr. Wakefield has been Head Teacher at Charter International School since July 2006 but he has worked in Thailand since 1999 having previously been Head of Secondary at Saint John's International School, Bangkok and also at the British International School, Phuket. Mr. Wakefield has previously worked in Bahrain, England, Qatar, the USA and Zimbabwe. He has wide experience of British, American and International style curriculums as well as national and international accreditation systems. Mr. Wakefield's own area of academic excellence is in geographical and environmental education. In 1989 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) and is also a member of the Geographical Association. He is the author of more than twenty geography textbooks and CDs, and was jointly responsible for the development of the award winning Global Eye magazine in the UK. He has worked as a GCSE examiner for the University of London and as question writer for the University of Cambridge's IGCSE exams. Mr. Wakefield was a member of a joint Geographical Association/Mexican Government team which developed educational materials about the village of Tocuaro after a visit in 1997. These materials now form the basis of one of the recommended geography topics in the English National Curriculum.
